An Appalachian Summer
Festival

Started in 1984,
the Appalachian Summer
Festival is one of the
nation's most highly
regarded regional,
multidisciplinary arts
festivals. The
Appalachian Summer
Festival is presented by
the
Appalachian State
University Office of
Arts & Cultural Programs
and is located on the
beautiful ASU campus.
Every June and July, for
an affordable price, the
Appalachian Summer
Festival offers
innovative, creative
performing arts; music,
dance, theatre, film and
visual arts take over
the ASU campus in a
truly community oriented
event.
Appalachian Summer
Festival enjoys
broad-based support from
the local community and
has greatly enriched the
cultural landscape of
the High Country. For
nearly a decade,
Appalachian Summer
Festival has been named
one of the "Top Twenty
Events in the Southeast"
with attendance
exceeding 26,000 each
year. The
heart and mission of the
festival is to bring
artistic excellence to
the festival through
innovative formats and
programming in an
engaging atmosphere.
