The Blowing Rock Charity Hunter Jumper I Horse Show, one of the oldest horse show events in the country, will take place Wednesday to Sunday, July 28 to August 1. For more info, call 828-295-9099.
The first half of hunter/jumper lasts through Sunday, August 1, while Hunter/Jumper II begins on Wednesday, August 4 and continues through Sunday, August 8.
Classes begin at 8 AM each day except on Sundays when starting time is at 7:45 AM. A Blowing Rock tradition since 1923, the event will be held at the L.M. Tate Show Grounds located at the Blowing Rock Equestrian Preserve. Spectators and exhibitors can expect the same gracious hospitality and genteel ambience offered at this 2010 show as they have come to know in previous years. Plenty of parking and complimentary rides in golf carts to the bleachers, vendors, competition rings and shops encircling the main ring are just some of the amenities people can enjoy as the equestrian action takes center stage each day.
General admission tickets cost $5. Purchase tickets at the gate. Proceeds from the show will be donated to a number of local charities. For more information, call 828-295-4700.
