Sugar Mountain is one of

Mountain Resorts
offering skiing in the
winter and golf and
tennis in the warmer
months. Rising high in
the Blue Ridge
Mountains, the Sugar Mountain
Golf Course is located
at an elevation of 4,000
feet and is widely
recognized for its
phenomenal long range
views, immaculate
putting greens, and
fragrant laurel
boundaries. Several
beautiful mountain
brooks zigzag through
the course and prove to
be challenging additions
to the landscape.
Designed by Frank Duane
in 1974, the Sugar
Mountain Golf Course
features nine par three
holes, eight par fours,
and a single, difficult
par five hole.
The new 5,000 square
foot Sugar Mountain
Clubhouse is home to
Sugar Mountain's golf
and tennis endeavors
including the golf and
tennis shop, snack bar,
golf cart garage and
2,000 square foot half
covered observation
deck. Dedicated to David
Nixon, one of Sugar
Mountain's longtime
residents and a civic
minded citizen of the
region, the clubhouse is
a great spot to gather
and enjoy the day. Tee
times are available
seven days a week
starting at 8:00 a.m.
The six, clay tennis
courts are open from
9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
seven days a week.
